When the title track of “In the middle of the Night” began, I believed I was listening to a Pink Floyd cover band. Musically as well as tonally, the tune seems like an update of Breathe, from the seminal album Dark Side of the Moon. however no. This is an all-original work by London synth-poppers Still Corners, a collection of smooth, neatly executed hipsways.
On a similar note, however with more edge, salvation prayer draws its motivation from bands like Oasis (I’m assuming), as well as is more like a lighter version of heavy psych (if that makes sense), however I likewise discovered the droning guitars to be meditative as well as trancelike.
