While The Mandalorian (and baby Yoda) captured fans’ hearts on Disney+, a new original series is hotly anticipated. No, it’s not the rumored star Wars: Rebels sequel or the final season of The Clone Wars. Rather, it’s the first live-action series from the new marvel Studios television group, producing content for the streamer. A new announcement from Disney+ reveals a loose release date for The Falcon and the winter Soldier. The series, starring Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan, is currently filming now. Recently, set photos gave us our first looks at us agent and, possibly, the existence of Madripoor in the MCU. Still, we don’t have a precise release date, yet. Still, Disney+ has given us a window of time when we can expect the series to debut.

When marvel announced the MCU phase 4 lineup at Comic-Con last summer, they only offered vague release windows for their series. The first of these would debut in fall of 2020. Now, thanks to Deadline, we know the loose release date for The Falcon and the winter Soldier is set for August on Disney+. The specific date is not yet known, but it will likely debut on Fridays like most episodes of their original series.

They may have originally wanted to release the episodes later. So, the series would lead into the November 6, 2020 release date for The Eternals. Yet, in a way, The Mandalorian didn’t help star Wars: The rise of Skywalker as the series was much more universally beloved than the film. By airing The Falcon and the winter Soldier earlier, in August, they can leave some space between this show and The Eternals marketing.
The story for The Falcon and the winter Soldier seems to be that the us government doesn’t want Sam Wilson taking over for Captain America. Wyatt Russell has reportedly been cast as John Walker. It’s worth noting that, in the comics us agent is a hero, despite being a knock-off Cap. It will be interesting to see if walker is a well-intentioned antagonist or an outright villain.
