Media release — The Albany Comic con will hold an auction of comic associated artwork as well as product to assist support continuous relief efforts to regional neighborhoods that experienced considerable losses during the recent hurricanes as well as flooding. working with St. Ambrose church in Latham, N.Y., the convention’s promoter, artists as well as vendors will contribute products as well as original comic artwork that will be offered in a silent auction all the time at the convention on Sunday, October 30th, 2011.
“We have about 10 or 12 original pieces of art, as well as expect many of our vendors to contribute extra products to add to the auction,” stated promoter John Belskis. artwork offered will include an original Dick Tracy colored sketch by the strip’s artist, Joe Staton. other artwork includes a physician who piece by regional preferred Matthew Dow Smith, a Batmandrawing by John Hebert, Superman by Paul Abrams, as well as a universal Monsters sketch by Fred Hembeck, in addition to others.

The Albany Comic con takes location on Sunday, Oct. 30th 2011, from 10am to 4pm at the holiday Inn on Wolf Rd. in Colonie, NY.
Tickets are offered for $5.00 each at the door as well as on the web site. A restricted edition print of many of the pieces in the auction is offered with a purchase of the VIP ticket for $50. These tickets can only be bought with the web site.
