Media release — Rylend grant has been busy. The screenwriter – whom has previously penned poppy action fare for folks like Ridley Scott, Justin Lin, John Woo, and F. Gary gray – spent 2018 writing films for the likes of J.J. Abrams and Hamilton star Daveed Diggs. He also somehow managed to find the time to put together a deliciously evil five-issue sequel to his critically acclaimed comic book, ABERRANT. “I don’t sleep much,” says Grant, whom is also raising a gleefully rambunctious two-year-old. To add fuel to his bone-tired fire, Collider recently announced that ABERRANT is being developed for television by 24 and Felicity executive producer Tony Krantz. “Tony is one of the smartest people working in Hollywood today,” said Grant, who will write the pilot and produce the series alongside Krantz. “He has shown a uniquely genuine passion and enthusiasm for the book. I honestly couldn’t be much…

I remember when the easy and clean single “The great Defector” came out in 2009, and I heard this band for the first time and thought, “This is like if Coldplay was actually good.” because then, Bell X1 have produced sleek and shimmery pop, and it’s consistently at the top of the genre. and their last album, Chop Chop, which came out three years ago, was their best yet. So how can they top it? Easy, by backing away from it. Where their last album was much more raw and rock and roll than anything they’d done before, ARMS is back to their original, smooth sound—to the extreme. some of it may seem to slide best off you, but it will stick around long enough to make a mark. gentle and easy, ideal for a rainy day and wandering thoughts, ARMS is practically like a meditation. Check it out.

I offer comic book investment and speculation picks in this column.  Why ought to you count on me?  here are a few of my past picks I recommended to individuals and my reasoning for the picks.  consider it my curriculum vitae for my comic book investments.  I had to pull up my notes to make sure the timeline of events was accurate so you could review my work.   I then extrapolate that rationale to recommend some books you may now want to consider now and for your next comic book investment. Second Tier Avengers My past Pick:  Avengers #48 Reason:    I looked at the potential for future films before the release of the Avengers.  I told an investor to purchase Avengers #57.   This book contained the first appearance of the Vision.  It was an easy choice even though it cost the buyer a few much more dollars than…

Throughout his celebrated career, Wein has either written or edited the Caped Crusader’s adventures since soon after entering the field in the late 1960s. In Wein’s Gotham City, Batman is a human being devoted to crimefighting, a superhero in the traditional mode. He’s dark however without the brooding as well as obsessiveness. This post is Filed Under: Home page Highlights, Interviews and Columns Showcase Presents: Dial H for Hero by Robert Greenberger Sockamagee isn’t the most memorable catch-phrase you will ever find, but it’s one of the most fondly recalled aspects of the lovely Dial H for Hero series which ran in DC Comics’ house of mystery from 1966-1968. The series was the supreme in wish fulfillment as we could all imagine ourselves finding the alien dial and all of a sudden becoming one cool hero after another. It certainly discusses why it has remained fondly recalled and has been continuously revisited ever since, many recently by J. Michael Straczynski in an issue of The brave and the Bold. This post is Filed Under: Home page Highlights, Interviews and Columns Half past danger #1 Stephen Mooney has dealt with such books as Angel, CSI: dying in the Gutters, and The A-Team. Now, he’s writing and drawing his own series, half past Danger, at IDW. Westfield’s Roger Ash contacted Mooney to learn much more about this upcoming project. Westfield: What was the genesis of half past Danger? Stephen Mooney: essentially the easy fact that I wanted total control over the kind of story I was telling, I guess. I’ve had the pleasure of working with some fantastic writers on some quality titles, but up to this point I’d never gotten the chance to really sink my teeth into my preferred genre; period pulp action-adventure stories. I figured that the best way to get to work on a book featuring the kind of characters and situations that I really wanted to…
